A meeting of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy has been held in Brussels.

The sides expressed their satisfaction with the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union in various fields. It was emphasized that the visit of President Ilham Aliyev would further promote bilateral cooperation.
The parties exchanged views on ways to settle the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, regional security and stability, cooperation in the energy sector and a number of other issues.
