Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Buzovna-Mardakan-Gala highway

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Buzovna-Mardakan-Gala highway.

The development of the capital Baku and its suburban settlements is always in the spotlight. The State Program for 2011-2013, a continuation of the "Program of measures to accelerate the socioeconomic development of the suburban settlements of Baku for 2006-2007" approved by Order of President Ilham Aliyev, covers modernization of the entire road infrastructure.

The allocation of 5 million manats from the Contingency Fund of the President in accordance with the Order signed in October of last year on the reconstruction of the Zabrat-Mashtaga-Buzovna and Zabrat-Kurdakhani-Pirshagi highways, which link the settlements of Zabrat, Mashtaga, Pirshagi, Kurdakhani, Buzovna and Bilgah with a population of about 200,000 people with the city of Baku, shows the consistency of these activities.

President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the stand describing the technical indicators of the Buzovna-Mardakan-Gala highway.

Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov informed the President that the total length of the 22-meter wide road is approximately 12 km. The highway has been built at the level of the latest requirements. The entire infrastructure of the four-lane road has been replaced, a modern lighting system installed and three interchanges built along the highway.

Complete reconstruction of rural and village roads in the suburban settlements of Baku is significant primarily from the standpoint of addressing social issues of the population.
