Ilham Aliyev received the Chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received the Chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Elmar Brok.

The head of state said that the cooperation between Azerbaijan and European institutions was successfully developing and had already achieved good results. President Ilham Aliyev noted the importance of identifying opportunities for a further expansion of partnership relations in the future. The President expressed his hope that the visit by the Chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Elmar Brok, to Azerbaijan would serve to further enhance the cooperation between our country and European institutions.

The Chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Elmar Brok, said that he represents a structure interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan. Referring to the relations between Azerbaijan and European institutions, Elmar Brok stressed the importance of cooperation within the framework of the "Eastern Partnership" program.

The sides exchanged views on issues relating to the current state and prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Parliament.
