Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Uruguayan Parliament

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Uruguayan Parliament, Herman Cardoso.

Noting that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Uruguay were developing rapidly, the President stressed the importance of mutual visits at various levels in this context. President Ilham Aliyev said there were good opportunities for the development of cooperation between the two countries in all areas and pointed to the role of inter-parliamentary contacts in the expansion of relations. The President expressed his confidence that the visit by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Uruguayan Parliament, Herman Cardoso, to Azerbaijan would be successful and would contribute to the further development of relations.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Uruguayan Parliament, Herman Cardoso, said that there was great potential for the development of bilateral relations between his country and Azerbaijan in all areas. He noted that the large distance between the two countries could not prevent the expansion of cooperation.

During the meeting the sides pointed to the good opportunities for the development of relations between the two countries in political, economic, trade, tourism, agriculture and other areas, and noted the importance of appropriate steps in this direction.

The sides also exchanged views on ways of a negotiated settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
