Ilham Aliyev met with Prime Minister of Slovenia

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has held a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister of Slovenia Janez Jansa.
The head of state recalled with satisfaction his meeting with Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa during the NATO summit in Chicago and the discussion on the prospects of cooperation between the two countries. Emphasizing the great potential for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia, President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that the visit of Prime Minister Janez Jansa to Azerbaijan would be successful and give an impetus to the expansion of cooperation in the political, economic and other fields and building strong partnerships.
Prime Minister Janez Jansa noted the importance of his visit to Azerbaijan with a large delegation from the point of view of expansion of economic ties. Stressing the importance of the cooperation agreements to be signed during the Azerbaijani-Slovenian business forum organized in Baku, the Prime Minister said that there was great potential for a further development of bilateral relations.
Then the meeting continued with the participation of delegations.
President Aliyev said bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia in the political sphere and in the field of international cooperation were reassuring. The President expressed his gratitude to the Government of Slovenia for the support of Azerbaijan's cooperation with the European Union and NATO and stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations.
Noting that economic cooperation plays an important part in the expansion of bilateral relations, President Aliyev stressed the need for exploring opportunities for joint economic activities and developing ties in investment and other fields.
Prime Minister Janez Jansa expressed his satisfaction with the fact that, following the talks on the development of ties with President Ilham Aliyev during the NATO summit in Chicago, all the agreements reached between the two countries were being implemented. The Prime Minister said his country appreciated Azerbaijan's position in the region. Janez Jansa also stressed the importance of Azerbaijan's participation in the UN Security Council. Noting that the two countries have friendly relations, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of expanding economic ties. Touching upon the importance of his visit to Azerbaijan with a large business delegation, the Prime Minister said there was a mutual interest in expanding economic ties.
