Ilham Aliyev met with President of Romania Traian Basescu

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of Romania Traian Basescu.

The successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Romania in political, economic and other spheres was stressed during the meeting. The importance of the meetings and reciprocal visits of the state leaders in terms of expansion of ties was also noted. The Presidents also underlined the importance of the meeting of the Azerbaijani, Georgian, Romanian presidents and the Hungarian Prime Minister, scheduled to be held the following day in Baku, and stressed the significance of the AGRI project in ensuring the energy security of Europe. They also expressed confidence that the event would contribute to strengthening the regional cooperation.

The President also expanded upon the current state of the talks on regulation of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. 

Bilateral relations and international issues were discussed during the meeting.
