Ilham Aliyev held meeting with Foreign Minister of Germany in Berlin

Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held a meeting with Annalena Baerbock, Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, in Berlin.

Annalena Baerbock stressed the importance of discussions held on the sidelines of the Petersberg Climate Dialogue and praised President Ilham Aliyev's speech at the event. She commended the close cooperation and regular consultations between the respective delegations of Germany and Azerbaijan regarding COP29. Annalena Baerbock said that Germany will continue its efforts to support Azerbaijan's presidency of COP29.

The President of Azerbaijan once again expressed his gratitude for Germany’s collaboration concerning COP29 and the invitation to participate in discussions within the Petersberg Climate Dialogue format.

The head of state noted that hosting COP29 in Azerbaijan has emerged as part of the peace agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Annalena Baerbock reiterated Germany’s commitment to supporting the peace agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

President Ilham Aliyev underscored the significance of the meeting between Armenia and Azerbaijan held with the support of the German Chancellor during the Munich Security Conference, adding that the discussions during this meeting had given a serious impetus to the process of border delimitation and demarcation.

The head of state highlighted that peace treaty negotiations between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, facilitated by Germany's foreign minister, were crucial steps towards taking peace negotiations forward.

President Ilham Aliyev described the success achieved in border delimitation and even demarcation between Armenia and Azerbaijan through direct dialogue and negotiations as positive steps, indicating that stability in the region had already been ensured.

He stated that Azerbaijan would continue to strive to advance the peace agenda, emphasizing the country's commitment to the peace agenda.

The head of state mentioned that the next meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, at the initiative of Kazakhstan, would be held in Kazakhstan.
