Dear Mr. President,
On the occasion of the National Day of Azerbaijan, it is with sincere joy that I send Your Excellency, on behalf of the Portuguese people and myself, greetings and wishes of progress and prosperity to all Azerbaijanis.
On this special date, I reiterate to Your Excellency my strong commitment to continuing efforts to develop and deepen the ties of cooperation between our two countries, which enjoy not only a solid relationship of friendship, but also a shared vision on many regional and global issues.
Faced with an increasingly complex and volatile global environment, with successive threats to the rules-based international order, I would like to emphasize the certainty of the priority that Portugal and Azerbaijan attach to the resolute defense and promotion of our shared values, namely peace, democracy, multilateralism, dialogue and respect for human rights, as enshrined in the United Nations Charter.
Reiterating my congratulations, please accept, Mr. President, the assurance of my highest consideration and personal esteem.
