President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the inauguration of the “Jahangirbayli” Hydroelectric Power Plant of the “Azerenergy” OJSC.
President of “AzerEnergy” Open Joint-Stock Company Baba Rzayev informed the head of state about the works carried out in the plant.
In accordance with President Ilham Aliyev’s Order regarding the creation of new "green energy" potential in the territories liberated from occupation, "AzerEnergy" OJSC started the construction of a series of hydroelectric power stations (SES) in the fall of 2022 with a total capacity of 42 megawatts, each 10.5 megawatts, at four locations in the area, where Okhchuchay is passing through Zangilan district.
The works at "Sarigishlaq", "Shayifli" and "Zangilan" HPPs are close to completion, while construction of "Jahangirbayli" HPP has been finished.
The engine room built for "Jahangirbayli" HPP, two 5.25 megawatts European-manufactured green certified French eco-turbines, generators, and remotely controlled digital equipment were installed. The station will generate more than 30 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
