President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended a ceremony to launch the water supply and sewerage systems in the city of Gazakh.
Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Reserves Agency Zaur Mikayilov informed the head of state of the work done under the project.
The project is part of the “National Water Supply and Sanitation in 6 Districts in Azerbaijan” program jointly financed by the Government of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Development Bank.
The project is designed to improve the use of drinking water supply and sewerage services for 26,000 people in the city of Gazakh, taking into account the prospective development until 2035.
The implementation of the “Reconstruction of drinking water supply and sewerage systems of the city of Gazakh” project started in 2019.
A 119-kilometer water distribution network was built in the city. An 83-kilometer-long sewerage network and a 3.8-kilometer-long sewerage collector were also constructed.
