President Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening of the Samur Customs Checkpoint
The Chairman of the State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev reported to the head of state.
President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon signaling the opening and got familiarized closely with a new customs checkpoint built in line with modern standards.
Aydin Aliyev and Elchin Guliyev, Head of the State Border Service informed President Ilham Aliyev that this checkpoint which started to be constructed in 2008 has the total area of 5 hectares. 11500 square meters of this area are used for buildings and facilities. Temporary storage places, warehouses, canteen, administrative building, the cynological service point have been constructed in the territory of the customs checkpoint.
Inspection of goods and vehicles in the checkpoint is carried out in line with the most modern requirements. X ray portals installed here are used in the leading countries of the world. All goods are screened duly through the monitor. This allows not only detecting some goods transported by smugglers, but extending customs services at the basis of modern requirements. The customs checkpoint is equipped fully with all necessary equipment.
It has been reported that customs control lines are ensured here for export and import operations. The one stop shop is applied in this customs checkpoint. Employees of goods, financial and transport taxes departments are also working here. In the territory of the terminal where sanitary-quarantine, phitosanitary and veterinary services are also extended, renovation work has been carried out with plants and trees planted around.
The control room runs its activities in the administrative building of the checkpoint. From this room, it is possible to track the control processes as well as citizens and vehicles entering into the terminal.
After having studied closely the customs checkpoint, President Ilham Aliyev gave instructions and recommendations.
