Ilham Aliyev reviewed “Intellect” lyceum No 49 and secondary school No 21 after major overhaul and reconstruction

President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed “Intellect” lyceum No 49 in the Sabayil district and secondary school No 21 in the Yasamal district of Baku after major overhaul and reconstruction.

Major overhaul and reconstruction of secondary schools of the capital are carried out in accordance with the action plan envisaged in the state program on the socioeconomic development of Baku and its suburban settlements. According to the program, renovation and restoration work in the schools of Baku is ongoing. Along with the repairs, the construction of additional classrooms, new school buildings, sports and assembly halls, canteens for existing schools is carried out. Schools are also fitted with the necessary equipment.

President Ilham Aliyev first reviewed the major overhaul and reconstruction of “Intellect” lyceum No 49 in the Sabayil district of Baku.

The head of state reviewed a stand with the photographs reflecting the appearance of the school before and after the repairs.

Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed President Ilham Aliyev about the work done. It was noted that in accordance with the state program the renovation of the school began in May 2012. The total area of the three-storey school building is 5,700 square meters. A total of 51 classrooms and auxiliary rooms, sports and assembly halls, corridors and toilets have been completely refurbished and three computer rooms set up. An area of 1,500 square meters around the school has been covered with asphalt, the roof of the building, stairs and railings replaced, floor tiles laid in the lobby, and all electrical and communication lines replaced. In the lobby of the school and in the classrooms there are photos of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev, as well as national state attributes.

Considering the demand for new classrooms due to the growing population of this neighborhood, a new three-story building for 660 pupils with 36 additional classrooms has been constructed.
