Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening ceremony of Akkord Granite Marble Plant

President Ilham Aliyev arrived to Akkord Granite Marble Plant.

The head of state was informed that the growing demand for the use of granite and marble products in our country created a necessity to enlarge this area of production. In this regard, Akkord Group of Companies performed large scale construction – refurbishment works and built a new plant equipped with more sophisticated equipment and a vast production capacity. The investments in the amount of AZN19 million have been made for the construction of plant and its refurbishment. AZN3.5 million out of that amount constitutes the preferential loan allocated by the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Assistance of the Ministry of Economic Development as well as the investment made by the Group of Companies.

The head of state toured the exhibition hall of the plant. The bust of the national leader Heydar Aliyev is installed in the entrance of hall. There was also a photo stand featuring various moments where the national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev have participated in the opening ceremonies of different production plants.

President examined products made from granite and marble. It has been pointed out that the granite and marble plant disposes 2 lime stone sites, Bej marble site in Turkey and granite deposits in Ukraine. Various types of marble and granite blocks, onyx and travertine imported from various countries of the world are used also in the production process of the plant. President Ilham Aliyev has come to granite production workshop. The head of state has commissioned this workshop by pressing the button signaling the start-up of production process.

It has been noted that automatically steered saws have been installed in the plant to use it for making the products differing by its high quality according to its technical specifications. There is also the water recycling system created in all workshops of the plant to ensure the protection of environment. The following products will be produced in the plant: large and small sized slabs; footboards and sideboards; handrails; sledged cubic stone; sidewalk stones and trays. Stones will have raw, treated, decorated and burnt surfaces.

New production sites, administrative and service buildings in line with modern standards have been constructed in the territory of the plant. All conditions are created here for work and leisure time of employees. At the same time, two storied canteen meeting high standards has been built here. It is envisaged that over 200 employees will work in the plant and stone quarries.

After having familiarized closely with the plant, President Ilham Aliyev gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
