President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a tunnel and overpass of the Buzovna road junction.
In accordance with the action plan on improving the transport system in Baku, the construction of modern overpasses, bridges, tunnels, underground and elevated pedestrian crossings is under way in different parts of the city. The construction of the Buzovna overpass and tunnel, which facilitate convenient entry into the Buzovna, Mashtaga, Bilgah settlements and the city of Baku, is also part of the measures to develop the road transport infrastructure in the capital.
The construction of the Buzovna road junction, built for the “AzerYolServis” Open Joint Stock Company of the Ministry of Transport, was carried out by “Azvirt” Limited Liability Company.
Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov informed the President of the technical parameters of the Buzovna road junction. It was mentioned that the tunnel is 365 meters long and 17 meters wide, while the length of its covered section is 41 meters. High quality building materials were used in the construction.
The overpass is designed to withstand a 9-point magnitude earthquake. The width of a two-lane overpass is 5 meters. It was noted that a crossing has been built for the safety of pedestrians. Rainwater drain lines and pumps have been installed in the crossing and in the tunnel.
After reviewing the work done, President Ilham Aliyev gave relevant instructions.
