Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of pedestrian subways in the Buzovna settlement of Khazar District

President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a pedestrian subway in the Buzovna settlement of Khazar District, on the 12th kilometer of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport-Zugulba road.

Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov informed the President about the technical parameters of the subway. It was noted that the subway, the construction of which began in June this year, is of special importance in terms of traffic management, prevention of congestion and the safety of pedestrians on this section of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport-Zugulba road. The subway, which has four entrances, is 44 meters long, six meters wide and three meters high. Local and foreign materials were used in the construction. There is a modern lighting system, while railings are made of stainless steel. The stairs are fitted with separate wheelchair ramps. The opening of the subway will also contribute to the elimination of violations of traffic regulations in this bustling area.

Then President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a new pedestrian subway on the 11th kilometer of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport-Zugulba road.

The head of state was informed that the construction of the pedestrian subway started in May this year. The presence of homes, a school and catering facilities in the vicinity has necessitated the construction of the subway. The construction of the pedestrian subway, which is important from the standpoint of the safety of pedestrians and traffic, has been carried out at a high level, using modern techniques. Local and imported materials were used in the construction.

It was mentioned that the subway is 48.1 meters long, six meters wide and three meters high. It has a lighting system that automatically switches on when pedestrians approach it. This saves energy. The stairs are fitted with separate wheelchair ramps.

The President was also informed about the landscaping work carried out around the pedestrian subway.
