President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed the progress of reconstruction and landscaping work at the Heydar Aliyev Park located on the territory of Sumgayit’s 9th micro-district on the intersection of the Heydar Aliyev Avenue and Zulfi Hajiyev and Shamsi Badalbayli Streets.
The head of the Sumgayit city executive authority, Eldar Azizov, informed the head of state that reconstruction of the park, which was commissioned in 1999, had commenced in April of this year.
President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the park reconstruction layout.
The President was informed that the park, covering an area of 7.6 hectares, now has a grandiose entrance designed in a modern architectural style. The construction of the Heydar Aliyev Museum, a recreation area and new fountains is planned here.
The Heydar Aliyev Museum is to be built in the most picturesque section of park on the basis of an ingenious project. The museum will have stands documenting various periods of great leader Heydar Aliyev’s life. It will also have photos of the nationwide leader’s trips to Sumgayit, documents and materials of the years when he was leading the country and other historical exhibits. The museum’s library will have various publications on Heydar Aliyev’s life and activities.
President Ilham Aliyev reviewed samples of construction materials to be used in the reconstruction of the park.
It was indicated that the construction of a modern 8-meter clock tower was under way at the entrance to the park.
The head of state was informed that a broad green area would also be established in the park, a modern lighting system installed and various attractions for children assembled. In other words, there will be excellent conditions for the recreation of city residents here.
President Ilham Aliyev toured the area and gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
