President Ilham Aliyev received FIFA President Joseph Blatter and UEFA President Michel Platini.
Head of state congratulated Joseph Blatter on the occasion of his reelection as FIFA President and stressed the importance of his first visit to Azerbaijan, following the election to this high post. Toughing upon the great support of world football community extended to Joseph Blatter during his election as FIFA President, President Ilham Aliyev assessed this event as a result of effective activities of FIFA under his leadership. Head of state recalled meetings held with Joseph Blatter in Baku and Zurich. Thanking Joseph Blatter for visiting our country to take part in events marking 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani football, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that the visit will be interesting and successful.
FIFA President Joseph Blatter expressed his pleasure of visiting again our country and meeting with the President of Azerbaijan. He thanked the head of state for the invitation to visit our country to participate in events held on the occasion of 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani football.
Joseph Blatter and Michel Platini presented memorable gifts to President Ilham Aliyev.
Guided by Clause 5 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I hereby order:
To appoint Sahil Rafig oglu Babayev as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
