The four-day international show-jumping tournament in memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev was concluded with Grand Prix finals, at the Equestrian Center of Bina.
During the finals, President of Azerbaijan, President of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva, and President of the International Equestrian Federation, Her Royal Highness Haya bint Al Hussain were among the audience.
The audience members, who came to watch the finals at the Bina Equestrian Center, welcomed President Ilham Aliyev, Mehriban Aliyeva and Haya bin Al Hussain warmly.
Special exemplary orchestra of Azerbaijan State Border Service performed the national anthem.
When the finals were over, the famous Karabakh horse was demonstrated at the show. The young sportsmen also demonstrated their talents. Exemplary performances of other famous horse breeds also were welcomed warmly by the audience.
Later, the 16-years old “Hollywood” nicknamed horse, which had worthily represented the equestrian sports of Azerbaijan at the qualification round of the Beijing Summer Olympic Games, was brought to the arena and was sent to “honorable retirement”.
The owner of the horse, nicknamed “Bill Clinton”, showed the best results in the tournament, and thus, was presented the keys of a “KIA” brand car.
Then, the award ceremony was held for the winners.
Azerbaijani sportsman Patrick Mc Entee with his horse “David” won the fifth place.
The fourth place was taken by Azerbaijani representative Jamal Rahimov and his horse “Platinum E”.
Other Azerbaijani sportsman Gennadiy Gashibayazov finished third with his horse “Latzero”.
Holders of the second place were Azerbaijani sportsman Patrick Mc Entee and his horse “Concord-57”.
Finally, the winner of the first place and the “Heydar Aliyev Cup” was announced at the Grand-Prix tournament. These awards were presented to Azerbaijani sportsman Jamal Rahimov and his horse “Bill Clinton”.
The awards were presented by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva and Her Royal Highness Haya bint Al Hussain.
The ceremony ended with performance of the national anthem.
