President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia David Usupashvili.
David Usupashvili welcomed President of Azerbaijan outside the Parliament`s building. Members of the Georgian Parliament were introduced to President Ilham Aliyev. The head of state and the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament posed for photographers.
During the meeting, on behalf of the Georgian MPs, David Usupashvili expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for visiting the Parliament as part of his official trip to Georgia.
David Usupashvili said they were proud that one of the influential personalities in the region and in the world, the Azerbaijani President visits Georgia.
The Chairman of the Parliament stressed the importance of this visit in terms of the further cementing of Azerbaijani-Georgian friendly ties, which he described as very intensive and strong.
On behalf of the Georgian Parliament, David Usupashvili congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on his party`s victory in the parliamentary elections, saying they will further maintain relations with the new Parliament of Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev recalled his meetings with the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament in Baku. The head of state said the Joint Declaration signed by the Presidents once again demonstrated the highest level of the relations between the two countries. “It is mutual respect and sympathy that lie at the heart of our ties,” said President Ilham Aliyev. The head of state noted that Azerbaijani-Georgian cooperation in the political, economic, social and humanitarian fields could serve as an example for many countries. President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the importance of the inter-parliamentary cooperation in terms of the deepening of the friendly relations.
The head of state then signed the Parliament`s guest book.
