President Ilham Aliyev has received the credentials of the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ireland Brendan Ward.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev then had a conversation with the Ambassador.
During the meeting, the sides noted that there was good potential for the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ireland in the economic sphere. The parties exchanged views over the issues related to trade, investment making, joint projects, development of ties in other fields and implementation of work in these directions.
Touching upon the First European Games in Baku, the Ambassador informed President Ilham Aliyev about Irish athletes` preparations for the Games.
