President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by former Foreign Minister of the Federative Republic of Germany and Honorary Chairman of the Free Democratic Party – part of German government coalition, Hans-Dietrich Genscher.
Former Foreign Minister of the Federative Republic of Germany, Hans-Dietrich Genscher said he was aware of the great development processes ongoing in the country and had personally witnessed it during his visit to Azerbaijan, which had left a deep impression on him. Having touched upon the infrastructure projects implemented in Azerbaijan, the guest highlighted the importance of achievements attained in this field.
The President talked about the rapid economic development processes that had been ongoing in Azerbaijan in the recent years. Saying that the Azerbaijani economy is the fastest growing economy, President Ilham Aliyev mentioned the importance of large-scale economic reforms carried out in the country.
The sides exchanged views on bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Germany, energy field and international issues during the meeting.
