I congratulate you on your reelection as President and the people of Azerbaijan on an important stage in the strengthening of civil society. National elections provide citizens with the right to choose and form an important part of the democratic process.

The USA and Azerbaijan have a strong partnership based on common strategic interests. Our countries share common values such as joint efforts to prevent the spread of extremism, promote tolerance and progress in the world.

We confirm that these fundamental values, which represent the foundation of any democratic system, are deeply rooted in Azerbaijani society.

Mr. President, as friends of Azerbaijan we wish you and your people success in your efforts to develop the country.
