US congressmen, senators, governors of various states and senior officials have congratulated President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on a landslide victory in the presidential election held in Azerbaijan on 9 October.
Pointing to the existence of a strong partnership between the USA and Azerbaijan, a member of the House of Representatives, Ted Poe, writes: "Mr. President, I congratulate you on your reelection as President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. I also want to congratulate you and your people on the peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan and Iraq carried out jointly with the USA. Azerbaijan and the United States have multifaceted relations in many areas.
The delivery of energy resources from Azerbaijan to Europe and the world as a whole is an important step. I am very pleased with the role your country has played in energy projects. You expand the important role of Azerbaijan in the global energy industry by the day.
I appreciate everything you have done for the welfare of the people of Azerbaijan. There is absolute freedom in Azerbaijan.
