On 9 October, President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul telephoned President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Abdullah Gul congratulated the head of our state on a landslide victory in the presidential election and wished him success in this high post for the benefit of the welfare and tranquility of the Azerbaijani people.

The head of state thanked the Turkish President for the attention and congratulations.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkey Abdullah Gul noted the continuous development of friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries and expressed their confidence that bilateral relations would continue to develop in all directions.
