President of the Azerbaijan Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev has reviewed the landscaping and creative work carried out at the military encampment of the Shamkir military unit.
Commander of the Shamkir military unit, Lt-Gen Rovshan Akbarov, reported to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at the bust of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev in the military unit.
The President visited the new soldiers' club built on the territory of the military unit.
It was noted that the Museum of Heydar Aliyev was set up at the entrance to the club. There is also a modern 500-seat auditorium, a library, a reading room, a computer room and a variety of clubs here.
The Commander-in-Chief reviewed the soldier's barracks consisting of three buildings.
It was indicated that there were sports facilities and lounges for effective organization of personnel recreation. In order to improve living conditions of the personnel, all rooms are fitted with the necessary equipment. The ideology rooms of the barracks are used to conduct activities associated with military and patriotic education, as well as moral and psychological training of personnel. The parade ground, sports areas and the swimming pool have been reconstructed as well. There is a platform for high-ranking officers, football, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, an obstacle course, a variety of sports equipment for power lifting, a hand combat area and a swimming pool. The military unit also has baths, a laundry room and a boiler house.
The Commander-in-Chief also reviewed the medical station of the military unit. It was noted that it operates equipment based on the latest achievements of medical science.
Then President Ilham Aliyev visited the soldiers' canteen for 1,500 people.
It was also indicated that the checkpoint and the room for meetings with relatives had been completely rebuilt.
Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev gave relevant instructions on further improvement and landscaping work of the military unit.
