President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of an 80-seat Children's Academy for the Shamkir branch of Baku Oxford School.
The provision of children with quality education and healthcare meeting world standards, proper care about them and the creation of favorable conditions for the formation of a growing generation of good citizens are the main principles of the state child policy in Azerbaijan. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which has always supported the child policy of the state, carries out important projects in this area. The adoption and implementation of state programs in this direction has assumed a sustainable nature. Nursery schools, kindergartens and recreation centers are built, and boarding and secondary schools restored both in Baku and the countryside. The construction of a Children's Academy in Shamkir is a logical result of the successful reforms ongoing in this area.
The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the building.
It was noted that the Children's Academy has been built on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Its construction began in May of last year and was completed in June of this year. The Academy has all the conditions for a rational organization of children’s leisure. The Academy, which will operate on the basis of special curricula, will admit kids aged over two. The children will be trained on the basis of the well-known “Kiddie Academy” curriculum. The curriculum, taught in more than 65 countries around the world, is one of the leading pre-school programs.
The President was familiarized with the Academy.
In the lobby of the building and in the rooms there are pictures reflecting the care of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev and President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva about children. There are special sections for children’s recreation. Classrooms, the kitchen and the canteen are decorated to children’s liking. The Academy also has four bedrooms and an art studio for children.
