As part of a visit to Kurdamir, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Center.
The President was informed that the Heydar Aliyev Park where the Center is located is one of the popular places with the residents of Kurdamir. It is well-suited for the recreation of local residents and visitors. The restoration, landscaping and gardening work carried out in the area has turned the park into one of the most beautiful places in Kurdamir.
The President of Azerbaijan reviewed the photo stands and a virtual classroom on the first floor of the Centre.
The Center attracts attention with a majestic portrait of great leader Heydar Aliyev. It has tastefully decorated photo stands documenting the visits of nationwide leader and President Ilham Aliyev to Kurdamir District in different years. The photos on display show child, teenager and college years of the great leader, his tenure in the State Security Committee, as First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan, as First Deputy Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers, his activities in Nakhchivan in 1990-1992, and a period when he was President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Brilliant leader Heydar Aliyev has dedicated all his meaningful and glorious life to the people of Azerbaijan. The exhibits and photographs displayed show that very important and crucial pages of modern history of Azerbaijan are associated with the name of world-famous political figure Heydar Aliyev.
On the second floor there is an exposition hall and a 300-seat conference hall for conducting various events. There is also a classroom for the promotion of the rich heritage of the nationwide leader.
The President was informed that the construction of the Heydar Aliyev Center had begun in July of last year and was completed in July of this year. The three-storey building of the Center covering an area of 2,524 square meters also exhibits books and various historical documents about nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev.
An electronic library, study rooms, a conference hall for 300 people and a foreign languages center are all designed at an advanced level. There are dance, sculpture and carpet-weaving clubs, a painting studio, a 3D cinema, an Internet cafe and a photo studio here.
