President Ilham Aliyev has received the credentials of a newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Venezuela to Azerbaijan, David Nieves Velasquez Caraballo.
The ambassador was greeted by the guard of honor.
Ambassador David Nieves Velasquez Caraballo submitted his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.
Then the President of Azerbaijan spoke to the ambassador.
Stressing the importance of the development of bilateral relations, the President indicated that there were great opportunities for cooperation in different spheres.
President Ilham Aliyev also pointed to the availability of a good potential for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Venezuela.
David Nieves Velasquez Caraballo said it was a great honor for him to be his country’s first ambassador to Azerbaijan. He stated that Venezuela intends to establish strong relations of friendship with Azerbaijan in different spheres.
