Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials of the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials of the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan, Musaid bin Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Salim.

The Ambassador reviewed the guard of honor.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Musaid bin Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Salim presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then the President of Azerbaijan had a discussion with the Ambassador.

Emphasizing the high level of relations between the two countries and peoples, the President said that Saudi Arabia was one of Azerbaijan’s friendly and allied countries. Noting that Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia had strong political and cultural ties, President Ilham Aliyev said that there was great potential for cooperation in the economic sphere. The head of state stressed the importance of continued mutual support between the two countries in all international organizations.

Expressing his hope that during the period of diplomatic activity of Musaid bin Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Salim in Azerbaijan the development of these relations would be continued and new areas of cooperation identified, President Ilham Aliyev wished the Ambassador success in his work.

The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan conveyed greetings on behalf of the King of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud. He said that his country was interested in expanding bilateral relations with Azerbaijan. Expressing his satisfaction with the good level of political relations between the two countries, the Ambassador said there were great opportunities for the development of economic ties and pledged to spare no effort in this direction.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings from the King of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, and asked the Ambassador to communicate his greetings to the King of Saudi Arabia.
