President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Kangarli region within the framework of his visit to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The regional community greeted the President warmly.
President Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration ceremony of a new monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev erected in the region’s center.
Extensive renovation-reconstruction works have been carried out in the area of the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The President congratulated the residents.
Residents of the Kangarli region expressed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his care and attention.
On behalf of the local public, Beyimcan Babayeva thanked President Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for the successful continuation of the policy the foundation of which was laid by great leader Heydar Aliyev and for the rapid development of Kangarli district.
Congratulating the ceremony participants on the occasion of the monument to great leader Heydar Aliyev being unveiled, President Ilham Aliyev said:
- Let me cordially greet and congratulate you on the opening of the monument to great leader Heydar Aliyev. This majestic monument makes the district center even more beautiful. Great leader Heydar Aliyev is the founder of the modern Azerbaijani state. It is with his activities that the process of state construction in independent Azerbaijan is associated. As you know, when Azerbaijan gained independence, the republic was in a very difficult situation. The negative processes unfolding in the country, the economic recession, chaos, civil war, the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan practically put the independence of the republic in jeopardy, while the infighting and power struggle in Baku further aggravated the situation. Under such circumstances, the Azerbaijani people made the only right choice by inviting Heydar Aliyev from Nakhchivan to Baku. Thanks to this an end was put to all the negative phenomena in Azerbaijan, stability was established and a period of development commenced.
Those were the years that determined the realities of present-day Azerbaijan. It was in those years that the fate of present-day Azerbaijan was being solved – which course of development Azerbaijan will take, what country it will turn into and what state system there will be in Azerbaijan?! It was in those years that great leader Heydar Aliyev laid the foundation for all these issues. At all times – both during the Soviet period and in the years of independence, regardless of the public and political system – he devoted his life to serving the people of Azerbaijan. The present-day Azerbaijan is a creation of Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan is successfully developing along the path he has paved.
Today, creative work is under way in all spheres of life in our country, there is improvement, widespread construction, new businesses, factories and social facilities are being established. We can see rapid growth throughout Azerbaijan. It is not by chance that Azerbaijan’s successes are recognized globally. Influential international organizations describe Azerbaijan as the most dynamically and rapidly developing country in terms of economic development. Underlying all this is a successful policy, the policy of Heydar Aliyev. The successful oil strategy allows us to expand financial opportunities and use the country’s revenues so that every citizen of Azerbaijan could feel them. Today we can see these realities and acknowledge them with a sense of legitimate pride. All the work is being carried out at a very high level, including Nakhchivan. Nakhchivan is becoming nicer with every passing day, it is improving, new businesses, factories are being set up. Today I will attend the opening of a number of important social, economic and energy enterprises.
The establishment of Kangarli district is also a significant event. Several years ago, Vasif Talibov requested the establishment of Kangarli district in Nakhchivan. This will give a further impetus to the development of the autonomous republic. Today, we can clearly see the work done here in a short period of time. There were no buildings, nothing at all here. It was a wasteland. Today, administrative and residential buildings are under construction, there is a beautiful park and a good road here. The Nakhchivan-Sadarak road meets the highest international standards.
When I last visited Nakhchivan, I drove along a section of this road to Sharur. Today this road is ready to Sadarak. This means development, creation, improvement, this means service to the people. All public officers must do everything possible to ensure that our people live better as a result of their work, to enable our country to develop even faster. Today, Azerbaijan is a dynamically and successfully developing country. All socio-economic issues are being resolved, our standing in the world is strengthening, and this allows us to pursue an independent policy in the true sense of the word, a policy that relies on the will of the Azerbaijani people. This policy has been shown to us by Heydar Aliyev, and today Azerbaijan is developing successfully along this path.
