President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Children’s Creativity Center built by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Shamakhi.
The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Center.
The Azerbaijani government has assumed the commitment to ensure that the younger generation grows healthy and loyal to the Motherland, is educated and intelligent. Various measures are taken to ensure that every citizen masters the basic professional skills at an early age. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has opened numerous art schools and children's creativity centers both in the capital and in the districts in recent years. The attention of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to the development of culture and art, the care about the people working in this area, the renovation of culture centers, and the creation of a new modern infrastructure stimulate comprehensive development of this sector.
The Shamakhi children's creativity center has a section dedicated to well-known cultural figures. The area around the center has been extensively landscaped, a large number of trees and flowering shrubs planted and the necessary infrastructure created.
President Ilham Aliyev was informed that this center of culture had been in operation since 1959. First it was a music school, and a children's art school was established within it in 1995. The institution, which consists of 11 branches, employs 70 teachers and provides music education to 384 students. Due to the fact that the building had not been overhauled for many years, it became unusable and was knocked down. At the initiative of the institution which has assumed patronage of Azerbaijani culture, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, a modern three-storey building of the Shamakhi children's creativity center has been built instead of the old school.
The head of state reviewed a photo stand describing the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The exhibition called "Azerbaijan in the past centuries and today" displays examples of ancient and modern architecture, as well as national customs and traditions.
It was indicated that the center has a total of 54 training rooms, two dressing rooms, two rooms for painting and dancing, auxiliary facilities, conference and exhibition halls. There will be classes on playing the tar, kamancha, piano and other musical instruments. The classrooms and facilities are fitted with most modern equipment. The building has modern power supply and heating systems. The assembly hall of the center is equipped with all the facilities for various activities.
President Ilham Aliyev listened to the overture to Uzeyir Hajibayli’s "Koroglu" opera performed by the orchestra of folk instruments of the Children's Creativity Center.
In conclusion, a photo was taken as a souvenir.
