President Ilham Aliyev has received the Cochairman of the Board of the International Center of Nizami Ganjavi and the former President of Latvia, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, a member of the Club of Madrid and the former President of the Swiss Confederation, Micheline Calmy-Rey, the President of the Club of Madrid and the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Wim Kok, and the Cochairman of the International Center of Nizami Ganjavi and Director of the Library of Alexandria of Egypt, Ismail Serageldin.
The sides stressed the importance of the First Forum of the South Caucasus organized in Baku by the Club of Madrid together with the International Center of Nizami Ganjavi and expressed their confidence that the forum would provide a good opportunity for exchanging views on issues related to political, economic, cultural and other processes in the region and the world.
