President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has visited the city of Mingachevir.
The head of state attended the opening of a number of social infrastructure facilities.
President Ilham Aliyev visited the monument to the nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people erected in front of the newly built Heydar Aliyev Center, and laid flowers at it.
Then the President took part in the opening ceremony of the Heydar Aliyev Center.
The head of the executive authority of the city of Mingachevir, Niyazi Bayramov, informed the President that the construction of the Center had started in August 2008. The center, covering an area of 6,000 square meters, has been built in accordance with the latest standards.
President Ilham Aliyev visited the assembly hall of the Centre. The spacious and lightsome auditorium seats 570 people. The Center has a special area dedicated to national attributes. It was indicated that courses organized would be here, so that young people could learn about the latest technological innovations and develop their knowledge and skills.
Then, President Ilham Aliyev met with representatives of the local public.

President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the reconstruction of the "Dostlug" park named after Mushfig Mirzayev. The park covering an area of 6 hectares has a modern lighting system, a fountain and landscaped strips.

President Ilham Aliyev also attended the opening ceremony of the Youth House.
Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov informed the President that the area of the three-storey building was 1,000 square meters. This is one of the biggest youth centers in the country. It will play an important role in the efficient organization of leisure activities for young people.
President Ilham Aliyev was also informed about the sports facilities under construction and planned for construction and the work carried out in connection with the European Games due to be held in Baku in 2015.

Then the President visited the renovated waterfront park.
President Ilham Aliyev was informed that the area of the park is 3,000 square meters. This recreation area covering 20,000 square meters has been extensively landscaped. It was noted that the construction of a cable way over the Kura River was currently under way.
This cable way will be 212 meters in length and will be able to transport up to 1,000 people a day using two elevators.

As part of a visit to Mingachevir, President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed the state of the recreational complex on the banks of the Kura River after reconstruction.
The President was informed that the area of the new waterfront leisure complex is 1.5 hectares. There are all the conditions for the recreation of residents and visitors here.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev examined the construction projects of the High Risk Rescue Service, the regiment of Civil Defense troops and the State Water Resources Agency of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the integrated security system of the Mingachevir water reservoir.
After giving a report to the President, the Minister of Emergency Situations, Kamaladdin Heydarov, noted that the available safety and security systems were distinguished for their perfection.
After reviewing the scheme and layout of the security system of the Mingachevir water reservoir, President Ilham Aliyev watched a film about the integrated security system and observed the operation to thwart a conditional infiltration into the territory.
The President was informed about the fence and video cameras, which are among the most important elements of the security system.

President Ilham Aliyev also reviewed a new block of high-rise apartments constructed in Mingachevir for 502 IDP families.
President Ilham Aliyev visited the apartment of IDP from Agdam District Saida Ibrahimova. Informing the head of state, First Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov said that all conditions were available at the new block.
The hostess expressed her gratitude to the President for the excellent conditions created for the displaced persons.
The new block has a community center, an office building, a first aid station and a post office.
President Ilham Aliyev also reviewed Agdam secondary school No 52 for 480 pupils. It was noted that this block was 78th settlement built for refugees and internally displaced persons so far.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev visited the Flag Square. The President was informed that the height of the flagpole installed in Heydar Aliyev Avenue was 42 meters. Around the flag there are images of the map, the national anthem and the coat of arms of Azerbaijan.
