Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by the chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, Valeriu Zgonea.

Stressing that the two countries have close political ties, the President expressed his confidence that bilateral relations of friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Romania would continue to expand in all areas.

Noting the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation for a further strengthening of relations, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of mutual support between the two countries within the framework of international organizations. The President said that the people of Azerbaijan have great respect for the people of Romania and thanked Romania for its support of Azerbaijan on different issues. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that the visit of the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, Valeriu Zgonea, to Azerbaijan would be successful.

The Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, Valeriu Zgonea, said that after the signing of a document on strategic partnership between the two countries, their friendly relations have been at a very good level. The guest said that the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Romania in political, economic, cultural and other areas was encouraging and noted the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation for the expansion of these ties.

The sides also exchanged views on issues of cooperation in the energy sector, mutual investment between Azerbaijan and Romania, interaction within the framework of European institutions and within international regional organizations.
