It was stated that the city of Cetinje, which was founded in the 13th century, is considered to be Montenegro’s ancient capital. President Ilham Aliyev, who familiarized himself with King Nikola’s Palace, was informed that the palace was built at the time of King Nikola in 1863 and draws attention with its original architectural style. The palace, which operates as a museum now, was renovated in recent years, and the historical appearance of the building was restored.

The museum also has a collection of ancient weapons. Apart from that, valuable works created by numerous painters at different times are exhibited at King Nikola’s Palace. These exhibits and things, which represent the national heritage of Montenegro, first of all testify to the rich history of this country.
