Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah.

The President expressed his satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait in various fields. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his hope that the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, to Azerbaijan would serve to further strengthen the relations between the two countries in all areas, including political, economic, trade and cultural fields. The head of state expressed his confidence that the relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait would continue to flourish in the coming years.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, conveyed greetings and a message on behalf of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The guest noted the importance of the Azerbaijani-Kuwaiti intergovernmental joint commission for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries. He said that his visit to Azerbaijan provided a good opportunity to discuss issues related to the further development of bilateral relations. Noting that his country supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the guest emphasized the importance of the implementing UN Security Council resolutions on the conflict.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah said that there was also great potential for the expansion of cooperation between private institutions of the two countries.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and message of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and asked the minister to convey his greetings to the Emir of Kuwait. Recalling with satisfaction his meeting with the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of reciprocal high-level visits to the strengthening of ties.

The sides also pointed to the need for a further expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation, highlighted the importance of joint infrastructure projects, stressed the significance of mutual support between the two countries in various international organizations and expressed their confidence of a further expansion of this interaction.
