Ilham Aliyev received Italian delegation led by Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy in Mingachevir

On June 24, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Adolfo Urso, Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy of the Italian Republic, in Mingachevir.

During the conversation, they fondly recalled their previous meetings.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to Adolfo Urso for participating in the inauguration of the “8 November” Power Plant and voiced hope for the successful implementation of joint projects in the future.

Adolfo Urso described Italy’s involvement in the construction of the “8 November” Power Plant as a testament to the friendship and successful cooperation between the two countries.

Recalling his multiple visits to Azerbaijan, Urso expressed his satisfaction with participating in this event and noted his visits to the cities of Ganja and Aghdam in 2020.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Adolfo Urso was among the first high-ranking foreign officials from a European country to visit Azerbaijan’s liberated territories and expressed his appreciation for this gesture.

The President highlighted the large-scale reconstruction efforts currently underway in the liberated territories, noting that three international airports have already been inaugurated there.

During the conversation, both sides emphasized the strategic nature of Azerbaijan-Italy relations and praised the level of political ties. They underlined the importance of high-level reciprocal visits in further strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The significance of the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission was noted, and views were exchanged on enhancing cooperation in areas such as energy, including renewable energy, metallurgy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science, education, culture, and other fields. The parties also highlighted the active participation of Italian companies in the reconstruction and restoration works in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.

Additionally, prospects for cooperation between “AzerEnergy” and “Ansaldo Energia” were discussed.
