On February 19, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan , Ilham Aliyev, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for Victory Park in Khankendi.
The President's Special Representative in the city of Khankendi, as well as the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, Elchin Yusubov, briefed the President on the planned developments in the park.
Victory Park will be developed over a 12.9-hectare area, with demolition work currently underway. The site is divided into two sections, with demolition already completed on the first, covering 8.3 hectares. A total of 279,416 cubic meters of demolition waste has been removed from the area. The second section, covering 4.6 hectares, is also scheduled for demolition.
To preserve the natural environment, inspections have been conducted in collaboration with relevant organizations, identifying 262 existing trees of various species. Additionally, over 300 new trees from 21 different species will be planted in the park.
Planning work is currently in progress.
