On September 9, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, made a phone call to Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The conduct of the Azerbaijan Cultural Days in Kazakhstan this month was noted with satisfaction. Both parties emphasized the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
The President of Kazakhstan stated that Astana is ready to serve as a platform for negotiations on a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The head of state noted that Azerbaijan found this proposal acceptable.
During the phone conversation, they also exchanged views on issues related to the bilateral agenda.
