President Ilham Aliyev and President of Singapore Tony Tan have held a meeting in an expanded format with the participation of delegations. 

The heads of state had an official photo taken.

During the meeting it was emphasized that the current visit by President Ilham Aliyev was a significant and historic event in the bilateral relations between the two countries. The visit is expected to give an impetus to the development of the relations between Azerbaijan and Singapore in all areas.

The sides noted that Singapore was playing an important part in the life of Southeast Asia. From this perspective, Singapore resembles the important role of Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus region. It was mentioned that there were good prospects for the development of a comprehensive cooperation between the dynamically developing countries.

The parties indicated that although there were certain economic, trade and energy relations between the two countries, they did not fully reflect the existing potential.

The sides agreed on the establishment of an entity that would coordinate the development of cooperation between the two countries.
