His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Dear Mr. President,

On behalf of the people of the Republic of Serbia and myself, I sincerely congratulate you on the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, wishing your country progress and your people well-being.

The Republic of Serbia places vital importance on the development of relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan based on mutual trust, appreciation, and respect, as well as adherence to the consistent observance of the fundamental principles of international law.

Allow me to express gratitude for the understanding and position demonstrated by the Republic of Azerbaijan during the recent voting in the UN General Assembly, thereby supporting the Republic of Serbia, peace, and stability in the region.

I am deeply grateful for the assistance and support of your country on issues of significant importance to the Republic of Serbia, both in bilateral and multilateral contexts. With great pride, I note that the Republic of Azerbaijan has repeatedly demonstrated itself to be a sincere partner in the defense of vital interests, and we in the Republic of Serbia will not forget this.

I highly appreciate your involvement in further strengthening cooperation between our countries. I am confident that the strategic partnership between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Azerbaijan will continue to strengthen and enrich in the coming period in all spheres of mutual interest, especially in the economic field, and I want to express my readiness to personally contribute to this endeavor together with you.

I am also grateful for your attention and support regarding the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, which is of paramount national and state importance to us. The principled and resolute support of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the issue of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia is a testament to your country’s commitment to upholding the fundamental principles of international law. I want to assure you that the Republic of Serbia will also continue to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
