Ilham Aliyev reviewed secondary school No 242 after major overhaul and reconstruction

President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva have reviewed secondary school No 242 in the Nizami district of Baku after major overhaul and reconstruction.

The President was informed about the work done. It was noted that the school for 960 pupils has been in operation since 1968 but had not been renovated since then. The major overhaul of the school was started in accordance with the state program in 2012.

It was noted that classrooms have been renovated to modern standards.

All the equipment has been replaced, subject-specific classrooms fitted with the necessary equipment and visual aids. The heating system has been rebuilt and the school provided with uninterrupted hot and cold water. The overhaul has also upgraded the school’s lighting system.

Modern facilities have also been installed at the gym and assembly hall, canteen and doctor’s station.

It was noted that the area of 1.7 hectares around the school has been landscaped and an area of 1,200 square meters paved.

Expressing his satisfaction with the work done, the President gave instructions and recommendations on providing high-level education at the school.
