Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a pedestrian subway in the Nizami district of Baku

President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a pedestrian subway at 22-69 Babak Avenue in the Keshla settlement of the capital’s Nizami district.

The President reviewed the stand describing the technical parameters of the subway.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the pedestrian subway.

Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov informed the President that a number of measures were being taken to develop the road transport system in Baku and eliminate existing problems. Thanks to the work carried out by President Ilham Aliyev to develop this sphere, new road junctions, bridges and pedestrian subways are built in our capital.

It was noted that the construction of the pedestrian subway in the Keshla settlement began last year. All forces were mobilized for a quality and timely completion of the work. About 60 people were engaged in the project. The new subway will play an important role in ensuring the safe and convenient movement of people in this area.

It was indicated that the subway, built in line with modern requirements, is 64 meters long, 8 meters wide, 3.2 meters high and its total area is 700 square meters. The subway has a modern lighting system and security cameras at both entrances. The cameras monitor safety in the subway around the clock.

President Ilham Aliyev praised the work done.
