Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the reconstructed Heydar Aliyev Park and Park Boulevard in the Nizami district of Baku

The opening of the Heydar Aliyev Park and Park Boulevard has been held in the Nizami district of Baku.

The opening ceremony was joined by President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva.

Flowers were presented to First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Heydar Aliyev Park and Park Boulevard and reviewed the area.

It was noted that reconstruction of the park, established in 1998 on the 75th birthday anniversary of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, was carried out at the highest level. The densely-populated area has all the conditions for people’s recreation. The park covers an area of 56,000 square meters – it is 800 meters long and 70 meters wide. There is a set of fountains, including a musical fountain. The terrace area covers over 1,000 square meters. One of the most interesting elements of the park and boulevard is the availability of various entertainments. Numerous outdoor cafés will make summer recreation more meaningful.

The park also has a pastry shop, a photo studio, cafés and other catering facilities.

It was noted that the park has an underground car park for 120 cars. It has been extensively landscaped and fitted with an automatic sprinkler system. The lighting system has been replaced. The three- and four-storey buildings constructed at the park operate painting, weaving and sculpture clubs. The buildings also house cafés and restaurants offering dishes of the Ukrainian cuisine.

It was noted that was the entertainment center “Aquarium” built in the park enables interesting recreation for people of all age groups. The center covering an area of 3,000 square meters has a six-lane bowling alley, 39 different slot machines and a billiards room. The aquariums installed here impart special beauty to the center. The kids have not been overlooked either: there is a café, an entertaining maze for children under 8 years of age, a toy store and a pet shop. Various attractions will make the recreation of kids even more amusing. The center also operates an electronic shooting range meeting modern requirements.

It was noted that the entertainment center also has 3D and 7D cinemas which have the most sophisticated video and acoustic systems.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with the work done at the park and boulevard.
