President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed the finishing work in the construction of a new building of the Gabala city mosque.
The head of state reviewed the photo stand reflecting the appearance of the mosque after the completion of construction.
It was noted that the small building of the Gabala city mosque had become completely unusable in recent years. The construction of the new building of the mosque began in March 2011 and a plot of land of 800 square meters was allotted.
The mosque, being built on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, can administer divine service for about 800 people at a time. The construction of the main two-storey building, entrance stairs, a bridge and a 21.6-meter minaret has already been completed. In order to improve the stability of the minaret, foundation strengthening work has been carried out at a depth of 10 meters. Work inside the building is now drawing to a close.
It was indicated that finishing work was also under way in the common section on the mosque. It will operate a library, a ceremonial hall, places of ablution and other facilities.
The President of Azerbaijan gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
