In the framework of his visit to the region of Gusar, President Ilham Aliyev got familiarized with the work being carried out in the Shahdag Winter – Summer Tourism Compound.
Head of state was informed that the construction of the Shahdag Winter – Summer Tourism Compound will open up wider possibilities to do downhill skiing and other types of winter sport.
Spanning the total area of over 2 thousand hectares, this Compound’s construction will be implemented in 4 stages. During the first stage, vital communication lines will be laid down, and 11 lifting elevators, skiing lanes, artificial lake and snowing equipment will be installed in that place. Further, it is planned to build the five-star hotel with 312 rooms, four-star hotel with 346 rooms, three-star hotel with 282 rooms as well as hillside living mansions and cottages.
It is envisaged to install the elevators’ network and cultural-sport facilities, build cottages and lay out gardens in second stage.
The third stage covers the construction of additional skiing lanes and expanding of living zones. According to the project of Austrian specialists, special all-season snowing equipment will be installed in that area. Water storage house will be built also. 5 thousand people will work in this Center that will be constructed at two thousand meters above sea level.
Informing about the muster point, Mr.Abulfas Garayev, the Minister of Culture and Tourism said that all conditions are created here for the builders of the Compound. There are also warehouses used for civil engineering machines and construction materials.
President Ilham Aliyev was informed in detail about design and interior elements of hotels in the Compound as well as construction materials that will be used in building process.
Head of state gave instructions and recommendations to carry out the construction in line with modern standards.
