Ilham Aliyev met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban

President Ilham Aliyev has met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Then President Ilham Aliyev and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban had a one-on-one meeting.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he was witnessing extensive development in Baku since his first visit to Azerbaijan, adding that he was very impressed with this development.

Expressing his satisfaction with the rapid and successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary, including the active political cooperation, President Ilham Aliyev voiced his hope that even greater development would be achieved in the economic sphere. Noting that the two countries had established strong partnerships, the President stressed that the energy cooperation was expanding. Speaking of the international importance of the Crans Montana Forum being held in Baku, he noted the importance of Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s participation in it. President Aliyev also expressed his confidence that the Prime Minister’s visit to Azerbaijan would be important for the discussion of issues of bilateral interest.

Then the meeting continued in an expanded format. The head of state stressed the importance of bilateral relations and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Hungary within the European Union. Indicating that Azerbaijan considers Hungary as an important partner and friendly country, President Aliyev said Azerbaijan was interested in further developing bilateral relations with Hungary. The President stressed that the two countries have effective communication in the political sphere. He noted that there were good prospects for expanding economic, energy, security and cultural cooperation.

Stressing the importance of the Crans Montana Forum, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he was pleased to take part in it. The Prime Minister voiced his confidence that his country would expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Then, a dinner was hosted on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev in honor of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
