Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a 2-4-kilometer section of the Baku-Alat highway leading to the State Flag Square

President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva have attended the opening of a 2-4-kilometer section of the Baku-Alat highway leading to the State Flag Square.

Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov informed the President about the technical parameters of the road. It was noted that the length of the road is 2.8 kilometers and the width of lanes is 3.75 meters. The 8-lane road has four pedestrian crossings. Excavation work of 614,000 cubic meters was carried out during construction. One of the important factors increasing the value of the road is that it provides for a convenient movement of vehicles from Azneft Square to the State Flag Square and further to the Bibiheybat mosque.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the road.

We recall that the Cabinet of Ministers passed resolutions on 6 February 2008, 2 February 2009 and 28 January 2010 on the reconstruction and construction of the Baku-Alat highway and a resolution on 25 January 2011 on the reconstruction of the 2-4-kilometer section of the Baku-Alat highway.
