President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the “Agstafa-Agroservice” LLC.

It was indicated that the opening of “Agstafa Agroservice” LLC would help bring agricultural services in the district closer to modern standards, improve productivity and use land resources more efficiently. At the same time, the enterprise, providing comprehensive agricultural services, including the identification of species and plant varieties for cultivation, fertilizer and other necessary preparations, choice of the right method of cultivation, implementation of plowing, seeding and irrigation work, harvesting and agronomic services, etc., will play the role of a “one-stop shop” for farmers and landowners. The enterprise will offer farms quality and high-yield seeds, fertilizers and chemicals.

It was indicated that the office building of the company also meets the highest standards. There are photographs here reflecting the visits of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to Agstafa District. The office building has a conference room for various activities, a laboratory and two cafeteria.

It was noted that the construction of the “Agstafa Agroservice” LLC, covering an area of more than a hectare, began in June 2010. Machinery and equipment meeting modern standards and manufactured by leading companies from Germany have been purchased for the company. In general, there are 75 tractors, trailers and other equipment here. The company can serve up to 14,000 hectares of land.

It was noted that “Agstafa Agroservice” in the only enterprise in the South Caucasus to have such agricultural machinery. The use of this modern technology can produce a greater economic effect by spending less fuel and time. Besides, most of the equipment can perform four to five operations. The company has three mobile service vehicles manufactured in Germany. These vehicles are fitted with computers and other necessary equipment allowing them to serve equipment anywhere.

The President also reviewed the company’s warehouse.

It was noted that farmers were offered chemical and organic substances here. The warehouse has the fertilizer suited to various soil characteristics, growth regulators, substances against weeds, as well as high-quality seeds of wheat and barley. Company experts provide advice to farmers on agricultural measures and purchase products from them, which opens up additional markets for farmers.

President Aliyev also examined the organization chart of “Agstafa Agroservice” LLC, its services and prices of agricultural activities. It was noted that the company, employing 30 people, may provide services not only in Agstafa but also in Gazakh and Tovuz Districts.

The President was also informed about the “Granary, grain processing and production of flour” unit to be created within “Agstafa Agroservice” LLC. There are plans to set up an agrarian laboratory, build three granaries with a total capacity of 30,000 tons and three warehouses for seeds with a capacity of 6,000 tons. Also, the goal has been set to create a grain farm covering 6,000 hectares. It is planned to build a mill fitted with German equipment and a bread-baking facility with an hourly capacity of 10 tons. The company will provide jobs to 28 people. A quarter of the project is financed by the Azerbaijan Investment Company, while 75 per cent by German RAO Global Group.

President Ilham Aliyev was familiarized with a design of the “Agstafa Sud” OJSC to be built in the Boyuk Kasik village of Agstafa District.

It was noted that the goal of the project is been to create a dairy complex in Agstafa District that would combine feed, livestock and dairy farms with a processing capacity of 5 tons an hour.

It was mentioned that the feed farm covering an area of 2,700 hectares will cultivate clover, barley, wheat and corn. Thus, it will produce 95 per cent of the feed required for the animal husbandry sector annually. The livestock farm grows 6,630 head of cattle, including breeding cows brought from Germany.

The President reviewed the Kompakt-Soliter 9 seeding machine produced in Germany.

It was noted that the working width of the machine, one of the most sophisticated pieces of agricultural machinery worldwide, is 6 meters. It has 48 rows of plowshares, while the volume of the seed hopper is 4.5 tons. This equipment has no analogues in the South Caucasus and can perform five operations at a time.

President Ilham Aliyev was informed about the three varieties of locally grown wheat and one barley variety. The head of state was also provided with information about the purpose of production, types of seeds, planting areas and their density.

While reviewing the layout of the “Agstafa Sud” OJSC, the President was informed that the various products manufactured by the local dairy farm would be marketed both domestically and in Europe and Georgia. The company, which will contribute to the economic development of the entire region, will employ 114 people.

The President was informed that the project will be implemented in three phases. The first phase has been completed, while the second is scheduled to start in August.

After examining the enterprise and its future projects, the President gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
