President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the minister of infrastructure and the environment of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mrs. Melanie Schultz van Haegen-Maas Geesteranus.
Mrs. Melanie Schultz van Haegen-Maas Geesteranus conveyed greetings on behalf of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands to the President of Azerbaijan. The minister pointed to the importance of the operation of her country’s Embassy in Baku and of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in the Hague for the expansion of cooperation. The minister said she has come to Azerbaijan with a large delegation of business people.
The President said he was pleased to see a large delegation of business people led by the minister of infrastructure and the environment of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Azerbaijan, adding that the visit would provide them with a good opportunity to get to know Azerbaijan. President Aliyev recalled the meetings and effective discussions he had held with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands earlier in an effort to develop bilateral cooperation. The President said the opening of the embassies of the two countries had contributed to the successful development of bilateral relations.
The sides also exchanged views on the prospects for the development of relations in different spheres between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands, including water management, infrastructure, environment, transport, etc.
The President thanked the minister for the greetings from the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and asked her to communicate his greetings to the Prime Minister.
